The HERO3 + Black Edition is the top model capable of shooting 4K (3,840 x 2,160 dots) / 15fps 4K video. In addition to being made smaller by changing the housing, it is equipped with a "super view" mode that allows you to shoot with the left / right / up / down expansion. You can select 48/30/25 / 24p for 1080p Super View and 100/60/50 / 48p for 720p Super Viwer. It also has a WVGA / 240fps mode.
Also, as a change from HERO3, 4K 12fps shooting (previously 4K / 15fps / 12.5fps) and 2.7K 24fps shooting (previously 30 / 25fps) are now possible. It also follows HD shooting modes such as 1080/60/50/48/30/25 / 24p shooting, 960p shooting, and up to 120p shooting at 720p.
Also equipped with an "Auto Low Light" mode that automatically adjusts the shooting frame rate for shooting. The video format is MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 MP4. The lens has also been improved, and an F2.8 ultra-wide lens type that suppresses distortion has been adopted. The image sensor is a 12-megapixel CMOS. The lens has an aspherical surface / 6-element configuration and supports still image shooting. For time-lapse of 0.5 / 1/2/5/10/30/60 seconds, continuous photo of 3, 5, 10 shots / sec, and photo burst of 12 million pixel photos taken at 3/5/10/30 fps handle. In addition to Auto, white balance is compatible with 3000K / 5500K / 6500K / Cam Raw (when Protune is set).

Adventure accessories include Wi-Fi remotes and housings, quick release buckles, vertical quick release buckles, base mounts (for flat / curved surfaces), 3-way pivot arms, USB charging cables, batteries and more. The surf edition comes with a surfboard mount and camera strap instead of the base mount.
