事件なのか、事故なのか――。遺体の状況を調べて事件性の有無を見極める警察の検視に、タブレット端末で現場の遺体の様子を中継できる「検視支援装置」が活用される事例が全国的に増えている。福岡、長崎両県警で、最前線の様子を取材した。【写真】Hayato Kajiwara, the director of the Prosecutor's Office, talked to the police officer on the site through the monitor and instructed to shoot the body = October 20, 2021, Fukuoka Prefectural Police Headquarters, Daichi Itakura. タブレット端末には動画を送りながら会話ができるビデオ通話機能があり、現場に臨場した警察官と現場にいない検視官が持つ端末同士や、端末と警察本部にあるモニターとの同時通話が可能だ。 導入によって、福岡県のように変死事案の発生が多い都市部や、島しょ部を抱える警察で、検視官が現場で即応することが難しい場合でも、モニター越しに遺体の状況を早期に確認し、見極めが迅速にできるようになった。 「頭部から見せてもらいましょうか」「はい」「特異な外傷はないですね」。昨年10月中旬、福岡県警捜査1課の検視官室。梶原勇人室長と、変死した男性の遺体のそばにいる署員とがモニター越しにやりとりしていた。
