Some iPhone settings may improve usage

Apple has released the iOS15 update, bringing many improvements to FaceTime, Safari, and many other new features. Apart from the new settings in iOS15, there are many features that may have been around for a while. I don't know, and it's up to you to turn them on or off. In this article, we'll take a look at some settings on your iPhone and whether it's important to activate them and what can improve your use of your iPhone to make you more productive.

Realarm incoming calls in full screen

Before the iOS 14 update, incoming calls filled the entire screen and interrupted any tasks you were doing on your device. So I always complained about this way of notifying me of incoming calls. Starting with iOS 14, Apple changed the method with the notification bar at the top of the screen. Because of this method of alerting, you may miss some important calls. If you want to switch back to full screen, go to Settings - Phone - Incoming Calls - and click Full Screen.

Turn off 5G if you don't need it or it's not available in your area

Apple pushes smart data features for 5G phones iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 doing. This will automatically transition between 4G and 5G networks. This ostensibly saves energy, but works to drain the battery faster. There is a process that happens in the background that searches for available networks and turns them on. If you don't need 5G, turn it off until it improves or becomes available in your country.

To turn off 5G so that your iPhone always uses 5G even if it has 4G coverage, do the following:

In Settings, go to Cellular-Cellular Data Options-Voice and tap LTE.

You can also select 5G if you want your iPhone to use the 5G connection only when it is available.

Due to some settings on the iPhone, Use may be improved

Adjust the amount of data used by your 5G connection

Go to the Cellular Data Mode setting in Cellular Data Options. Here you have 5 different options. Allow more data on 3G and standard and low data modes.

There's a brief explanation under the 5 different settings, but it doesn't paint a complete picture of the first option. According to Apple's support documentation, allowing more data on 4G will give you better quality video calls and FaceTime. This means your phone can download system updates and stream HD content without Wi-Fi.

The default settings on this page vary by carrier and data plan, so it's a good idea to check your iPhone to make sure it's set to your liking.

Move Safari's address bar to its original location

Apple moved Safari's address bar to the bottom of the screen by default in the iOS 15 update. This makes sense since it's closer to the keyboard, closer to where you typically rest your thumbs. But since many people are used to seeing the address bar at the top, that may not be desirable.

To change this, go to Preferences, click Safari, and select the Single Tab option under the Tabs subheading.

Use Notification Overview to Organize Your Notifications

Apple wants to help you manage your notifications with the iOS 15 update, so you can bring your notifications to your home screen. Instead of piling up, you can schedule non-urgent alerts to be bundled at specific times of the day. Important notifications such as calls, direct messages and other sensitive alerts are delivered on time. To give it a try, open Settings, tap Notifications, and tap Scheduled Summaries.

Features available when your iPhone is locked

Sometimes you may need to get certain information even when your phone is locked. So Apple allows some features to be enabled without unlocking the device. This includes the notification center, control center, the ability to reply to messages, wallet apps, and more.

Customize the features you access on the lock screen by:

Settings - then enter your FaceID and passcode, enter your passcode when prompted, scroll down until you see the "Allow access when locked" section, and use the sliders to your liking switch.

We recommend turning off the following camera features

iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 record HDR video using Dolby Vision for more accurate colors and improved You can achieve brighter video with enhanced contrast. However, there is a problem. Not all apps or services work with HDR video.

Developers need to update their apps to accept HDR videos and still, people watching videos need devices that can see the difference in HDR. For Apple devices, this includes iPhone 8 and later, iPad Air 2020, iPad Pro 2020, and some Macs.

You can turn off HDR video by going to Settings-Camera-Record Video to disable HDR video. All videos are captured in standard dynamic range, no issues with sharing or editing.

Leave HDR video on, but if you want to share a video to Facebook, for example, use the Photos app instead of going to the Facebook app to upload. This is because when you use the Photos app, your iPhone automatically converts your videos to . Upload with SDR. Also, if you send the video to another iPhone user, Apple will detect if that iPhone, iPad, or Mac is compatible with HDR DolbyVision. Otherwise, Apple will convert the video automatically.

If you need to edit your video while keeping HDR video on, you can use Apple's iMovie app or iOS's built-in Photos app. You can also use iMovie to export the video in SDR format if you prefer.
